1. RazorPit Men’s Razor Blade Sharpener
We all know: shaving with dull razor blades is horrible. It’s slow, it hurts, and it can cause lasting, painful razor burn.
…But if you’ve ever bought new razor blades, then you also know:
This is even more horrible. Prices for blades have recently gone down (thanks to increased competition in the razor-blade game)… but they’re still ridiculously expensive.
But check this out: RazorPit’s Blade Sharpener can extend the life of your razor blades by up to 10 times!
How? Because your razor blades don’t actually get dull as fast as it seems. See… they seem dull because microscopic residues (skin cells, keratin from hair, and water) build up on them, and reduce their efficacy.
RazorPit’s Blade Sharpener uses a patented, friction razor sharpening/cleaning technology that gets rid of the majority of these microscopic residues… and makes your blades feel sharp again (so you can get more shaves out of every blade you buy).
2. Aqua Velva 5-In-1 After Shave Balm
Do you like razor burn? What about unsightly, red razor bumps (the ones that seem to last for days)? Or what about painful ingrown hairs?
Of course you don’t… so why aren’t you using an aftershave balm?
Aqua Velva’s 5-in-1 aftershave balm was designed specifically to relieve 5 of the most common shaving-related skin issues:
- It helps prevent ingrown hairs
- It minimizes razor bumps
- It soothes razor burns
- It moisturizes your skin
- It gives you a refreshing, cooling sensation
All in one balm… pretty cool, right?
To use: once you’re done shaving, add a small amount of the aftershave balm to your hand and gently rub it into your face… that’s it. The balm will help keep your skin smooth, hydrated, and feeling fresh (and will also help prevent any of the above issues from permanently damaging your skin). source
And here’s the best part:
All those 5 powerful benefits above, plus the trusted Aqua Velva name (they just celebrated their 100th anniversary)… all for under $5!
A Note From The Editor, Kyle:
My dad has been using Aqua Velva for years. So, when they reached out to show us their 5-in-1 aftershave balm… I was super interested to give it a try.
They sent me a few bottles… and after using it for a few weeks, man, what a difference has it made. I have pretty sensitive skin (which almost always gets irritated when shaving), so, I tried a bunch of different stuff: fancier shaving methods (like straight razors)… shaving in different directions… a handful of expensive pre/post-shave products…. etc. And some of these did help a bit… but none has had as big of an impact as Aqua Velva’s 5-in-1 aftershave balm.
Since using it, I’ve basically gotten no razor burn… no ingrown hairs… and no razor bumps. Guys… if you haven’t used this stuff, I highly recommend you give it a try. And really, for under $5, why wouldn’t you see if it makes as big of an impact for you as it does for me?

3. Beard Ninja
We’ve all been there: trying to shape your beard so that a) it actually looks good, and b) it’s even on both sides.
It’s a pain, right? Well luckily, the internet invented these plastic beard-shaping tools (which are essentially just plastic templates). My favorite is The Beard Ninja… because it actually does its job well:
- It has 2 symmetry guides. Use the three-hole guide for lining up your trim lines (on both sides of your face)… and the nose guide for trimming the perfect goatee.
- It has a lot of edge shapes. Shape your facial hair however you want: step cut, curve cut, curved goatee, straight goatee… and the perfect neckline, straight sideburns, even a well-groomed mustache.
- It has an anti-slip silicone grip. Easily and firmly hold the Beard Ninja as you trim (so you don’t slip and cut into your beard).
And here’s the best part:
It’s transparent, so not only can you actually see where you beard is, but it’s much easier to cut/shape it (I know this one seems like a no-brainer… but you’d be amazed at how many of these shaping tools aren’t transparent).
4. The Beard King
Here’s something we can all agree on: shaving basically always leaves a mess. Your beard trimmings seem to get everyone… and they’re irritatingly hard to clean up, right?
…But with the Beard King, your shaving experience will basically be mess-free. Here’s how it works:
Use the velcro straps to secure the Beard King around your neck (think about it like a giant bib), then use the suction cups (at the end opposite to the velcro straps) to attach it the mirror. This basically forms a huge basket, that catches all your beard trimmings (instead of letting them fall down and get everywhere).
…And once you’re done trimming your beard, detach the suction cups and point the Beard King towards the trash can (all your beard trimmings will slide out).
5. Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer 7200
The foundation of a good set of shaving tools… is one that actually shaves (good beard trimmer).
First, it has a long list of innovative features. Here are a few of the highlights:
- Powerful, integrated vacuum. As you shave, this vacuum sucks up around 90% of the hair you trim (preventing it from falling down and making a mess).
- Lift & trim technology. As you slide the trimmer across your face, it lifts and guides your hair for a better cut.
- Self-sharpening steel blades. Consistently well-sharpened blades mean a consistently better cut.
…And second, its price:
You get all those innovative features and the trusted Philips name… all for under $49!
6. Bakblade “Big Mouth” Back Shaver
This one is a bit of a departure from beard care… but for any guy with a hairy back, this is one of the best shaving products:
The Bakblade is a super simple concept, but it makes the irritating task of shaving your back simple and quick. It has a long handle and a 4-inch-wide blade that allows you to easily and comfortably shave your own back.
Now… there are a couple similar handle + wide-blade back shavers on the market, but here’s why I like the Bakblade:
Its wide, 4-inch blade is incredibly flexible (and is covered by a rigid case), which allows you to both dry shave and wet shave. This, plus BakBlade’s ridiculously sharp blades, make it the easiest way to shave your back, yourself.
7. Viking Blade Safety Razor
I usually go from having a full beard to having no beard. So… to shave, I have to start with a beard trimmer, and finish up/clean up with a safety razor (although, when I shave daily, I only use a safety razor).
…And one of the best investments I’ve ever made: a good safety razor (over cheap, ineffective, disposable ones).
My safety razor of choice? The Viking Blade Safety Razor. It’s one of the best grooming tools on the market because it’s a tool that does its job… and does it ridiculously well (unlike most safety razors). Three of its best features:
- Its Microcomb System (for an extremely close shave, that makes accidental cuts less likely)
- Its Butterfly Head (for a quick, 5-second blade replacement)
- Its High Durability (made out of high-quality stainless steel, brass, and bronze alloy that can help it last for years)
And here’s the best part of having a good safety razor:
Replacement blades are cheap! You can get 100 replacement blade for only $ on Amazon.
In short: better shave, better price, and better for the environment… getting a good safety razor (like the Viking) is a no brainer.
